Beach and Dino-theft

What did we do?  I totally don't remember... but there was a trip to the beach with Nana!  And a really really really really over-priced and completely lame dinosaur exhibit at the fair grounds.

My boys :)

Quinn took Ronin's hat

So, I bought him his own hat :)  angry birds. very appropriate. ha ha

Ronin got a few new shirts, this was our favorite :)

Long road trip to the beach - Long beach was super windy and cold ON the beach, but we got to walk the strip a little, eat a lot, and go on quite the hike to the lighthouse.

This is how he rolls after he's done eating...

GRUMPY boy - he needs a nap.

Coloring with Nana

The dinosaur exhibit sounded REALLY exiting on the radio and TV...  but I could have hired a bounce house and turned on Jurassic park for the same effect... and the lines would have been better.  Quinn was scared of the animatronic Dino's, although they weren't very life-like but he's afraid of dust bunnies so this was highly traumatic for him to see creatures with teeth moving.

He's pretty pissed right about now...

At work there were a lot of retirements going on...  so there was a lot of screwing off, eating and celebrating with coworkers.

My boss Helen, me, Rick, Maureen, and Terri

My good friend, Kitty (aka Deborah)

Whew, there were a lot of pictures!  Not a whole lot else... I might have eaten clam chowder and gotten sick since it was out of the fridge for 3 hours or more...  Quinn is growing a little Adolf Hitler mustache, I'm sure of it...   He's sooooo ornery!  Smashing popcorn into the couch, and jumping on it to really get it in all the nooks and crannies, telling me "I'm the boss of you!", creeping out of his crib and softly chanting "Mommmmmy...." until I come in to find him sitting on Ronin's bed, and all of Ronin's blankets and stuffed animals were thrown into his own crib.  How can I not laugh at his shenanigans?!   And Ronin is growing up and we are enjoying a couple of new books from his book-fair he just had at school. He still thinks poop is hilarious, and I must admit, I do too, but we might have to start a "poop jar" with money taken from him -to limit the amount of poop stories he tells.  He needs to learn that poop jokes are only appreciated in moderation...

I get the boys again this weekend :)

Lots of love,

March Puppy Moo's

It's been a couple of weeks, I thought I had written since Ronin's birthday but I guess not.  The boys are growing and Quinny's vocabulary and sentences have really boomed lately!  Except for the time we were in Target and he said "Look mommy, I'm a puppy, MOOO!"  which, technically he did speak every word of it very well...   He's got a little bit of my twisted sense of humor and I can only see me encouraging him and it growing to astronomical proportions before he needs therapy as an adult...

I don't even remember what we did the last two weeks... I got some pony beads for the boys to make bracelets and necklaces out of.  Quinn made me a bracelet, but then he kept it.  He lost it, and then he found it and wore it again yesterday.

Stupid cat

This last week it was really nice outside for a couple of days so I took the car to the car wash, Quinn hated it and cried the whole time... I should have known since he's afraid of the vacuum and the lawn mower that he'd hate the car wash too...

I had to hold his hand while we went through the car wash

Quinn and I drew pictures while Ronin played with the neighbors

Last week we rode bikes and then Bella came over to play with the boys.  We broke out the Monopoly Junior game and I set it up for Ronin and Bella.  I gave Quinn the pieces we weren't playing with but he quickly became frustrated that he couldn't touch the board, so he swiped all the pieces off with his arm.  I put him in time-out for doing it.  A little while later I was putting him in his pajamas in his room while Ronin and Bella were still playing the game in the living room.  Quinn was between me and the open door to the bedroom - I looked up at him, he looked back at the door and then back to me before grinning and running as fast as he could toward the living room, where I chased him but wasn't in time to keep him from kicking the board and all the pieces across the floor.  Mischievous much?

Since it was SO nice outside and I had some energy to burn I decided to get rid of the rhododendron that I've always hated. The only tool I could find was a hand saw.... but I got it cut down and now I need to find something else to put there that isn't so ugly and bush-like.

 Look!  No Rhodie!

Quinn really liked this bike at Toys-R-Us

Usually at night right before I put Quinn in his bed we sing a few songs, usually we hum some lullaby together and then we sing "You are my Sunshine" and "Row Row Row Your Boat"... and occasionally Quinny decides he hates my singing, which I can't blame him, but I finally caught him in action shushing me...

Don't sing mommy!

He likes my hat

Play doh eye patch

Apparently Quinn likes peas.

Today Quinn had a follow-up eye appointment.  When I told him he had a doctors appointment he said "Oh... but I'm all better now mommy!"

His eyes are doing fine, his right eye that wonders up is "normal" and both eyes are tracking fine... We go back in another 4-6 months continually for check ups.

At Burgerville after his eye appointment

All in all the boys are doing well...  I've been letting them stay up a little later so we can snuggle on the couch since we all need that time together.  This weekend we get to go to the beach with Nana - I'm very excited to spend my weekend with them :)

Lots of love,

Ronin turned 6!

Ronin turned 6 last week!  We celebrated on Thursday with a few of his friends at our house.  They had a great time and I got to meet two of his new friends and their moms.

BFF's, Sean and Ronin

Sean, Jacob, Joey and Ronin

For one game we played "make a mummy" and they were given a role of toilet paper to decorate their partner with... this was amusing, noisy and messy...

Quinn wanted to get "mummified" too

The cake - it had cream cheese frosting which was kind of slippery to work with.

On Friday I took the boys to Joes Crab Shack for Ronins birthday dinner before dropping them off in Gresham.  Ronin got a "shark bite" drink and lots of shrimp... he was waiting for them to sing to him, but apparently they don't sing happy birthday to people there, they just line-dance to the "car wash" song, which was extremely dissapointing to me and Ronin, but Quinn got up and danced to the car wash song, so it wasn't a lose all around.

Over the weekend I saw the movie "Stalingrad" in 3D...  It was pretty good, I'm not entirely sure why it had to be in 3D though...  Tonight we are going to Toys-R-Us to spend Ronin's birthday money from Nana and Papa.  THAT should be a lot of fun...  ha ha ha (uncomfortable laughter)...

Only 2 more weekends before I get another weekend with my little monsters :)

Lots of love,
