Easter is Lame

Last week went by way too fast.  There was a lot of playing outside and coloring easter eggs.  I finally finished painting my bedroom, next is my bathroom and to finish the boys's room...  Last weekend was Easter- we went to Mike and Shelley's house on Sunday to have dinner.  Afterwards we rode bikes to the park to play.

Ronin made this bunny at school :)

The morning of easter the boys and I took a package of peeps to Brandee and Byrekka's houses to "peep" their house before they woke up.  The boys thought it was pretty funny, and so did the girls. :)

We had really good ham and food at Mike and Shelleys.  We took Alesha with us to entertain her.  Quinn thinks she's pretty cool. He stole some of her chocolate.

He left the red egg and picked up the gnome instead...

One night I was in my room while the boys were watching something in the living room and Quinn came in to see what I was doing, and we decided to lay on our backs and ride our bikes and ski... we had a whole saying and routine.  He tries to recite it back to me - it's too cute, here's the video of him saying "ride your bike" and "ski, ski, ski".

Now I won't have them for 3 more weekends.  :(   We'll be going to Nana and Papa's one of these weekends.  Ronin misses Tina and Quinny wants to bring Kiera...  strange boys.

Lots of Love,

Muggles and things

This last week was spring break so I took Thursday and Friday off to spend with the boys.  The sun was out so we got to spend a lot of time outdoors, which is nice for a change.  I think I might actually enjoy summer this year!

Quinny is full of himself lately.  Terrible-two's have never been so accurate as with him.  Ronin kind of skated by his two's without being too terrible...    Quinn has told me "I'm the boss of you!" after jamming popcorn down the couch cushions and jumping on it.  Naughty boy.

At work, yet another retiree- Bob

A couple weeks ago I ordered a toddler bed for Quinn since he's freely getting out of the crib and causing mayhem...  While I was putting it together he kept telling me "it's going to be AMAZING!" and then when I put it in their room he said "It's AMAZING!"  haha - I love that he uses that word!  I felt pretty "amazing" after he was so impressed with his new bed.

His new bed -

I'm waiting until I can open the windows to get more ventilation in there...

My new friends Katy and Lilli  - we all went to a comedy club one night with Greg and Robert :)

A couple weekends ago I took the boys to see the Muppets... Ronin was pretty good except for hiding from me at the end, but Quinn was all over the place...  I kind of knew he wouldn't sit still that long, but I was hoping...  I had to go in the lobby with him several times before the movie ended.  No more movies with him for a while!

Ronin found a beetle

On Thursday I introduced the boys to Geo-Caching.  I have an app on my phone that tells me where a "cache" is hidding and we follow the compass until we get within about 30 feet of the spot and then we start looking.  Inside the "cache" is usually just a log to write your name on, and sometimes you can swap a small quarter-machine sized toy or trinket.  Ronin found the first two all on his own, I found about 3 of them.  I explained to him that we didn't want "muggles" to see us finding the treasure because they'll go take it and then nobody else can come and find it.  He wasn't so sure about this whole "we find a treasure but don't take it home?!" idea, but he quickly accepted it and couldn't get enough.  Both him and Quinny were talking non-stop about Geo Caching and how they don't want to be "muggles" after we got home.   I'm happy I found something fun and free to do outside with them. :)

Our last geo-cache of the day

When we got home Ronin wrote this on the sidewalk :)   Which was nice since he wrote "i hat you" the weekend before... haha

My boys :)

The boys went with their dad this last weekend.  Ronin was really sick Friday right before they got picked up.  Probably a little dehydrated from the sunshine.  Poor guy!

Over the weekend Robert built a grape arbor, which turned out hella cool - I helped his daughter, Alesha, stain the wood, and then she and I got pies from Shari's...

These are Robert's chickens, I think that one is their leader...

This is Alesha - she's pretty damn cool.

Easter is coming up this weekend - we are going to Mike and Shelley's house to eat and hunt for eggs.  I'm very grateful for their invitation.  I really didn't want to go to a park and have my children fighting for easter eggs with other strange children...

Beach and Dino-theft

What did we do?  I totally don't remember... but there was a trip to the beach with Nana!  And a really really really really over-priced and completely lame dinosaur exhibit at the fair grounds.

My boys :)

Quinn took Ronin's hat

So, I bought him his own hat :)  angry birds. very appropriate. ha ha

Ronin got a few new shirts, this was our favorite :)

Long road trip to the beach - Long beach was super windy and cold ON the beach, but we got to walk the strip a little, eat a lot, and go on quite the hike to the lighthouse.

This is how he rolls after he's done eating...

GRUMPY boy - he needs a nap.

Coloring with Nana

The dinosaur exhibit sounded REALLY exiting on the radio and TV...  but I could have hired a bounce house and turned on Jurassic park for the same effect... and the lines would have been better.  Quinn was scared of the animatronic Dino's, although they weren't very life-like but he's afraid of dust bunnies so this was highly traumatic for him to see creatures with teeth moving.

He's pretty pissed right about now...

At work there were a lot of retirements going on...  so there was a lot of screwing off, eating and celebrating with coworkers.

My boss Helen, me, Rick, Maureen, and Terri

My good friend, Kitty (aka Deborah)

Whew, there were a lot of pictures!  Not a whole lot else... I might have eaten clam chowder and gotten sick since it was out of the fridge for 3 hours or more...  Quinn is growing a little Adolf Hitler mustache, I'm sure of it...   He's sooooo ornery!  Smashing popcorn into the couch, and jumping on it to really get it in all the nooks and crannies, telling me "I'm the boss of you!", creeping out of his crib and softly chanting "Mommmmmy...." until I come in to find him sitting on Ronin's bed, and all of Ronin's blankets and stuffed animals were thrown into his own crib.  How can I not laugh at his shenanigans?!   And Ronin is growing up and we are enjoying a couple of new books from his book-fair he just had at school. He still thinks poop is hilarious, and I must admit, I do too, but we might have to start a "poop jar" with money taken from him -to limit the amount of poop stories he tells.  He needs to learn that poop jokes are only appreciated in moderation...

I get the boys again this weekend :)

Lots of love,
C
