Snow Days in February!

It's been a few weeks since I posted, but the boys have been busy and we have done a few things with our time.  We got to visit Nana and Papa on MLK Jr. day...

We went out to Shari's one night after Ronin's counseling appointment.  His counseling has been going well, she said he is a normal 5 year old boy.  I kind of figured as much, and am glad to hear it :)

We went to the library last week for some "story time" and to play in the kids area.

On Friday the 8th we woke up to lots of snow!  School was canceled so I took the day off to spend with the boys.  We woke up and had french toast smothered in whipped cream.  I tried to keep them in as much as possible since everyone has a cold, but we got out for a little while.  :)

I think I was tickling him and he went to tickle me, this picture made me laugh though.

And Ronin chilling in the Papasan on a snow day

We watched "The Croods"... they were in their respective bean bag chairs.

Quinn got his pad and pencil out to sit in his "thinking chair"

Quinn and I played for a while while Ronin was being lazy staying inside until I got my snowboard out, since all of their sleds are missing, and he decided to come out and play too ;)  I tied the snowboard to my waist to pull them around the yard, which didn't last long because after a few minutes Quinn started doing the splits and got snow in his glove and wanted to go back inside.

Ronin is celebrating Valentines day at school on Thursday so we're slowly making out the Valentines for his 21 classmates.  He did 6 last night.  He's getting pretty good at his penmanship :)  I just loved the eyeball suckers.  We get to contribute a "snack" on Thursday too...
Ronin's birthday is coming!  Since I don't know if I'll get to celebrate on a weekend yet, I made it for Thursday the 27th after school.  He's very excited and we're going to find things to fill his pinata this week :)

Other than never ending colds, the boys are happy and healthy.  They are full of hugs and snuggles for me :)  Ronin has gotten more snuggly than he used to be.  Quinn has gotten quite empathetic, if he hears me drop something he yells "are you okay mommy?!" I feel pretty blessed with my two little men.  :)  I am looking forward to summer to start taking some day trips with them.  We have Monday off for Presidents day, I'm trying to think of something fun to do with them...

Quinny Hijinx and Ronin's Virus

This last week Ronin got another virus and was down for the count.  Poor guy.  His fever went up to 103 on Thursday so I took him in to the doctor hoping he didn't have pnemonia since his cough came back as well.  He didn't, just a virus and upper respirator infection (aka a cold).  He just wanted to sleep... poor guy.  I had to constantly wake him up to take medicine and drink fluids.  But now he's back to his normal self.  :)

Quinn was full of it though while brother was sick, so there's a few more pictures of him this time around.  He likes his doctor kit I got him for his birthday and calls it his "doctor-doctor" stuff.  When I put him to bed lately we go through his alphabet book and do some counting, he can count to 12 now!  He tells me he's scared at bedtime, so I've started telling him "you're not scared, you're brave" and he repeats "I'm BRAVE!" in a very loud voice, it's super cute and I'll have to record it before he stops doing it.

Quinn watches "New Girl" with me sometimes, I'm wondering if this is his impersonation of her....

Not much going on at home.  I moved the bunny outside in the dog crate so our house wouldn't smell.  He seems to like it, I think he was too hot in the house anyway.  He hops to the cage door when I go outside so I can bring him in to visit the boys each night.  Kiera still wants to eat him.  The cat sized him up and decided he's too big to eat.  Quinny is very proud of his bunny and tells everyone "look at my bunny!" when they come over.  Ronin likes to feed him spinach.  Happy boys. :)

Ronin is getting excited for his birthday and I put a limit on 8 people at his birthday... he has two friends from school he wants to invite plus the usual suspects.  We are still doing Scooby Doo and I ordered the pinata this week and one of his gifts.  I am trying to think of a cool "mystery" game for them to play - but I can only envision a lot of loud noises coming from him and his friends and running around like crazy people... so we'll see how it goes.   It's hard to top his Mad Scientist birthday... I kind of want a mad scientist birthday party now...

Lots of love,
C

New Year 2014 and Stuff

The boys came home Christmas day to a new bunny Santa left!  Ronin named it "Finn", Quinny named it "Kitty"... but by the end of the day Ronin re-named it "Fuzzy Butt" and I named it "Jon Snow"...  so I suppose he is a rabbit with many names, but mostly we call him "Bunny".

The boys and I had a nice Christmas day.  We made ham for dinner and got to play with toys all day. Ronin got a Nintendo DS for Christmas, and I was happy to see that he colored and painted things instead of diving into video games.  Quinn got some messy paint supplies from Santa, it was all he wanted to do.

Santa brought Quinn paints, paint brushes, and paper

I took last week off to spend with the boys while Ronin is out of school.  On Monday we went to Chuck E. Cheese to meet up with Shelley and Sean for a playdate.

The rest of the week we did a little shopping, playing with new toys, bought Despicable Me 2 and watched it already about 4 times... It's pretty cute.  Nana and Papa and Aunt Tammie came over on Wednesday to visit for a while.  The boys got Christmas #3 that day.

New hat!

Another hat!

Ronin's new train set he gets to paint

Thursday we went to the new library in downtown Vancouver, the whole 3rd floor is for kids, they can even be noisy, now they want to go every week.

Quinn was chatting up a little girl

While at the library Quinn found me and said "I'm hungry!" so I told him to find Ronin and let him know we are leaving.  So he went around screaming "Let's go, I want to eat, Ronin!"  We decided on fish so I took them to Skippers, which they ate a lot of.  Guess they like salty fish.

Skippers!

Last weekend I got in some of my community service volunteer time for work by chipping christmas tree's with my coworkers...  it was a long day of dragging trees to the chippers.  But it smelled really good!

The rest of the weekend was spent being lazy... watching movies and t.v...

This week the boys want to go back to the library and we invited cousing Greg over for dinner one night.  Should be fun :)

Lots of love,
